We Teamed Up with Noah’s Arc to Deliver Clean Water to Maui Residents
Stable Road Foundation is proud to announce a joint project with Noah’s Arc to deliver clean drinking water to 130 people affected by the deadly Maui wildfires.
Noah’s Arc, the nonprofit organization founded by former NBA superstar Joakin Noah and his mother, artist Cecilia Rodhe, has been a partner of Stable Road Foundation for years. Founder Ed Freedman and Noah share a love of Maui’s natural beauty and a commitment to the future of its children—and when Rodhe learned that communities across the island still had no reliable source of drinking water after the fires, they knew they had to do something.
Rodhe’s vision: a mobile clean water station, mounted on a truck chassis rugged enough to handle Maui’s mountainous terrain.
Stable Road Foundation contributed over $35,000 to help Noah’s Arc acquire a unique machine capable of pulling water molecules directly from the air, instead of drawing from a lake or river. The Foundation’s contribution also helped transport the machine from the U.S. mainland to Maui.
The new mobile water station will deliver hundreds of gallons of water per day for the residents of Pu’uhonua o Nēnē, a temporary shelter for Maui’s unhoused and low income residents.
