Putting plans into practice: this was our 2024 focus here at Stable Road Foundation. It’s been a year of on-the-ground action and concrete results.
Here’s a look back at our biggest accomplishments.
Taking Action on Maui, Delivering Results for Our Ohana
Following the devastating wildfires that swept Maui in late 2023, we knew that the scale of destruction required a strong immediate response. We also knew that helping the island recover would be a multi-step process.
In 2024, our focus was on building a bridge to Maui’s sustainable future. These intermediary solutions helped the people in our community regain a sense of stability, and provided a roadmap for success as we move forward into the next stage of Maui’s rebirth.
Since 2017, Stable Road Foundation has worked in some of the most remote locations around the world to help communities in need build sustainable infrastructure and respond to natural disasters. This year, we took the lessons we’ve learned abroad and applied them here at home.

We believe every child deserves a chance to achieve their fullest potential. Education makes that possible—and this requires a safe, well-equipped place where children can learn and grow.
That’s why we helped build a new long-term temporary campus for Sacred Hearts School, a pillar of the Maui community since 1862. Our keiki are our future, and seeing the joy on their faces as they explored their new school was a priceless reward.

Burn zone residents return to their own land, with the first long-term temporary home provided by a nonprofit organization.
The people of Maui are deeply connected to their land. And for many families impacted by the wildfires, returning to that land was their highest priority.
So we helped launch a first-of-its-kind housing project to help Maui families get back to a sense of normalcy. After cleaning the debris, we got to work setting up high quality long-term temporary units for families in need.

Our mobile clean water machines are providing free, sustainable sources of clean water to unhoused and disadvantaged communities around Maui.
Healthy drinking water is the most essential resource for life. It’s also the easiest to take for granted—until it’s not available.
The damage caused to Maui’s water infrastructure might take years to repair. But in the meantime, people still need clean water to drink. We stepped up to meet this need by providing a free, sustainable source of water for hundreds of vulnerable people across the island.

Looking ahead to 2025
In the coming months, we’ll be building on the successes of the past year to set the stage for Maui’s permanent rebuild. While there’s still an enormous amount of work to be done, our efforts to date have helped establish a strong foundation for the next phase of this island-wide project.
We’ve been blessed to work with some truly incredible partners who share our commitment to the ohana of Maui and our vision for the future. By working together, we can deliver a far greater impact than any of us could alone.
Our team at Stable Road Foundation hopes to inspire you to join the movement, too. Each of us is capable of making a positive difference. As the new year begins, we encourage you to roll up your sleeves, get involved, and #FeelTheImpact!
