Stable Road Foundation Nominated for LA Business Journal's Nonprofit of the Year

A group of happy people sitting on the beach. The sky is clear and blue, and two surfboards are standing upright behind the group of people.

Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Business Journal officially announced that Stable Road Foundation has been nominated for their 2023 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Award. The newspaper, which was founded in 1979, is one of the most respected voices of the LA business community—and their recognition of our work is much appreciated by our entire team.

The Los Angeles Business Journal’s annual awards recognize nonprofits and founders who are committed to making an impact in their communities, and whose efforts have a tangible effect on improving people’s lives.

Stable Road Foundation works with many partners in the Los Angeles area on our core missions to help kids, communities, and the environment. Our work with THERAsurf—an LA-based group of professional surfers who help children with special needs learn how to surf and experience the healing power of the ocean—was highlighted in particular for the nomination.

We’re immensely proud of our incredible partners like THERAsurf, because they embody the same values that the Foundation is based on: inclusion, opportunity, and going the extra mile to help everyone achieve their full potential. Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces (and the faces of their parents) is one of the most rewarding experiences in the world. That’s enough recognition for us, but it’s always nice when the work is recognized by outsiders as well.

According to the Los Angeles Business Journal, the finalists and eventual winner will be announced at a gala event on April 19th. While it would be wonderful to win, we’re honored just to be included in the conversation.

And most importantly, we’re motivated to keep doing the important work of strengthening communities, both at home and abroad.
