If you’re a fan of surfing (and even if you’re not), chances are good you’ve heard the name “Kelly Slater” a time or two. He’s widely regarded as the best professional surfer of all time, with 11 World Surf League Championships and more world records than you can shake a longboard at.

He’s also a longtime defender of marine ecosystems, which makes him the perfect partner for Stable Road Foundation and our friends at Love the Sea, a nonprofit dedicated to “saving beaches and sea creatures,” as they so eloquently put it.

Our team at Stable Road Foundation has worked with Love the Sea before on one of their incredible beachside cleanups (check out this great article from Maui Times on our last collab). Now, we’re getting ready for another round of environmental impact—this time with a fashion friendly twist.

See these? They’re Outerknown’s Apex trunks by Kelly Slater, the most technologically advanced surf trunks ever created. They’re made from recycled plastic—which means that all the empty bottles and nets we pluck from the waves aren’t going into a landfill. They’re actually being put to good use, and making folks look good in the process.

The materials aren’t the only thing that’s special about these trunks, though. Notice the beautiful turtle print? That’s the Stable Road Foundation honu, or green sea turtle. It’s a traditional Hawaiian symbol of wisdom and good luck.

You won’t find this design on any old pair of Apex surf trunks, because Kelly decided to create a special run of just 250 pairs as a special gift for people who want to support our cleanup efforts. When you make a donation of $200 or more to Love the Sea, we’ll send you a free pair in the size and design of your choice.

After these 250 pairs are gone, there’ll never be another batch. So if you want to help save our oceans and be the best-dressed person on the beach, head over to Love the Sea’s website and donate now!
