Stable Road Foundation Renew Partnership with Hawai’i Land Trust

Ed Freedman and Stable Road Foundation have made another $5,000 donation to Hawai’i Land Trust (HILT) to provide new signage at one of HILT’s most popular nature refuges.

The original interpretive signage at Waihee Refuge was over a decade old, with limited usefulness for the thousands of visitors who come each year. Thanks to Stable Road Foundation, HILT will be able to overhaul the signage with new information and illustrations to make them more impactful for visitors.

Stable Road Foundation’s commitment to protecting the natural environment is one of its most cherished values, and conservation has been a key priority of the Foundation both at home and around the world.

As one of the world’s most diverse and delicate ecosystems, Maui is home to a breathtaking array of flora and fauna. This, in turn, has great significance in native Hawaiian culture—which is why HILT emphasizes protecting areas like Waihee Refuge as wahi kupuna, or Hawaiian cultural landscapes.
